Some bottles will be immediately familiar, such as the great ‘baby super Tuscan’ Castellani ‘Mirapiana’ Maremma, and that way-under-priced Chateau Maine Martin which is quite possibly the best value Bordeaux we’ve seen this year.

The Wines

The Baby Super Tuscan:
1x Mirapiana Maremma Toscana 2015
Dry, warm, with a great complexity and a touch of balsamic on the finish.

The Merlot:
1x Caze Blanque Pays D'Oc Languedoc Merlot 2016
Intense cherry, red fruit & berries, a medium full bodied red with hints of oak.

The Bordeaux:
1x Chateau Le Maine Martin Bordeaux 2013
A really impressive Bordeaux for the price, it’s use of old vines really shining through giving a subtle of fruit impossible to imitate.

The Syrah:
1x Viña Ilusión Rioja D.O.C. 2016
A stunning unoaked organic Rioja from cult winemaker Martín Alonso.

The French Malbec:
1x Chateau du Cedre, Malbec 'Camille' 2016
Well structured and surprisingly delicate, Cherry, cassis and fresh plums.

The Carmenere
1x De Martino Estate Reserve Carmenere
Deep garnet-red in colour, cherries and eucalyptus with some toast and vanilla from the oak-ageing. Very smooth and rich on the palate with a medium-body.
