Familia Cecchi is the estate of an original Italian immigrant family, who after arriving in Mendoza as vineyard workers in 1910, finally purchased their own land in 1959. An original producer of the area, helping to shape the entire region’s wine style.

They produce a number of wines, but their Malbec is their piece de resistance.
It's a serious red, stately, impressive, beautifully soft in the mouth yet with delicate pepper and slight acidity.

Only 13.5% vol but with depth that could pass for 14.5-15%.

Will lay down and improve very well for another 3-5 years.

Deep and bright pomegranate colour, fruity aromas that evoke ripe plums and raspberries, smooth, flexible entry with good body accompanied by balance typicality of the vegetal reminiscent of plums.

In our blind tasting, designed to pair with the richest meat dishes, this wine came out on top, earning 93 points, beating several other big reds, including a couple of respected Bordeaux.

Says David Havlik, Sommelier: "Far too often Argentinian Malbec falls into a category of overripe and over-extracted fruit bombs that steamroll everything in their way. I have learned to appreciate balance in my wine and this is exactly the style of Malbec that I enjoy - juicy, smooth and well-constructed. The wine carries shows typicity for the region in a much more palateable profile.

Furthermore the sustainable way of farming and organic certification does not have to scare the more conservative consumer, this is a clean and stable wine with no sign of farmyard or funk. All this for rarely seen value in its category."
