Mas de Daumas-Gassac needs little introduction as one of the most trusted producers in the Languedoc-Roussillon, and understandably become one of the stalwarts of the wine list here at Gauthier Soho.
The white 'Réserve de Gassac' is a blend of predominantly Viognier with the addition of Marsanne, Rousanne and Chardonnay from 25 year old vines. It is unoaked.
La Réserve de Gassac has pale straw yellow in colour with a fleshy nose of tropical fruits and green herbs. It produces a soft and ripe sensation on the palate with a deep lingering and a aromatic finish.With a very concentrated mineral backbone it is an excellent all-rounder with food especially roasted white meat and wild mushrooms.
This is an exceptional wine which features heavily on top restaurant wine lists, perhaps most notably at Tom Kerridge’s two-Michelin-starred Hand & Flowers.
