Mourvedre (40%) Cinsault, Grenache, Carignan • 14% Vol • Appellation Bandol Controlée

"When I think of the very best rosé, I think of Bandol" - Alexis Gauthier

Bandol needs absolutely no introduction as the world's most iconic rosé appellation, it's prized rose-golden wines are fought over each year immediately as the vintages are released.

A tiny family vineyard in Cadiere d'Azur, Domaine La Suffrene encapsulates all the romance of this world famous appellation.

This rosé is a deep rose golden pink and resonates with adventure and freshness. The balance is simply superb, choreographing everything wonderfully.

Official notes from the producer:

Nose : thin and discreet on red fruit aromas with spicy notes.
Mouth : Complex and balanced, notes of spices and citrus. End of mouth held by delicate bitter.

Says Sommelier David Havlik: "Often wines with sought-after names coast on the reputation of the region or the appelation. Marketing takes over the actual quality of the wine as a deciding factor. When I was choosing our August Rosé my objective was to find a wine that I enjoy regardless of the label and I can fully stand behind.

I believe that with Domaine La Suffrene we are bringing not just a beautiful label and famous appelation for a great value but most importantly a quintessential 'gold standard' rosé that lets you understand that there is no beating a glass of rose on a hot summer's day."
